Benjamin Pavard, Mario Gómez, Wataru Endo, Aleksandr Hleb, Sami Khedira, Joshua Kimmich, Timo Werner and Antonio Rüdiger. The list of players who started their careers at VfB Stuttgart and then moved on to become recognized global names is long. Anton, Guirassy (both Dortmund) and Ito (Bayern Munich) left VfB Stuttgart for established Champions League sides this summer. All three rank among Stuttgart’s record transfers. Ito is fourth, Anton is sixth, and Guirassy ranks ninth. At the very top remains Pavard, who was sold for €35m to Bayern Munich in the summer of 2020. The French center-back is closely followed by Gómez. The former national team striker joined Bayern in a deal worth €30m in 2010.
