There is a brilliance in Rodrigo Zalazar's game that Schalke fans have not seen since the legendary Raúl and could give them hope in what will be a difficult Bundesliga campaign.
Rodrigo Zalazar has already been a revelation early on in the Bundesliga. A classical playmaker, the Uruguayan is rekindling a bit of Schalke tradition as there is history when it comes to playmakers and the Royal Blues.
Andi Möller had a brief renaissance after he joined Die Knappen in a controversial move from Borussia Dortmund in 2000. Not to mention the Brazilian Lincoln, who from 2004 to 2007 was one of the most elegant players in the Bundesliga.
Then there is the unforgettable Raúl. The Spaniard might have worn the no.7, but while in Gelsenkirchen he played like a true no.10. The former Galactico scored 40 goals and 21 assists in 98 games for Schalke and guided the club to a Champions League semifinal in 2011, and also won the DFB Pokal the same year.
