Munich, Germany — Summer kick or a serious attempt to fight to capture second place ahead of VfB Stuttgart? That was the central question ahead of Bayern Munich hosting VfL Wolfsburg in front of 75,000 at a wholly packed Allianz Arena. The answer was that the fans got a bit of both. Despite an experimental squad, Bayern never had any problems with a Wolfsburg side that never showed up and won the game 2-0 thanks to goals by Lovro Zvonarek (4’) and Leon Goretzka (13’).
