Bayer Leverkusen have come back from a 3-1 deficit to defeat VfB Stuttgart 3-4 in front of 59,000 fans at an almost sold-out MHP Arena. Ermedin Demirovic (14’), Nick Woltemade (48’) and Granit Xhaka (62’ OG) scored for Stuttgart. Jeremie Frimpong (56’), Piero Hincapie (67’), Angelo Stiller (88’ OG), and Patrik Schick (94’) scored for Leverkusen.

The result means Bayer Leverkusen have shortened Bayern’s lead at the top of the table to six points. More importantly, the last 30 minutes brought back memories from last season and returns a hint of excitement to the top of the table. Here are three thoughts from Stuttgart.
