Uli Hoeneß may have signed up to St. Pauli's stadium cooperative last week, but the city of Munich is hardly known as an epicentre of revolutionary disobedience. An anti-authoritarian streak does exist within Bayern Munich's support, however, in the form of Munich's Red Pride (MRP), who celebrated their 15th birthday by honouring the most infamous "revolutionaries" in their club's history.

Elsewhere, disobedience descended into outright violence in Jena as Hallescher FC hooligans attempted to storm the home end, while Borussia Dortmund ultras produced a choreography which looked strangely familiar.

Finally, Fortuna Düsseldorf's fourth and final "Fortuna für alle" game of the season helped contribute to a total 2. Bundesliga attendance which, for the third time ever, was higher than the 1. Bundesliga.

Matt Ford's "On the terraces" newsletter will continue to appear every week throughout the 2024/25 Bundesliga season. Last season, the newsletter featured exclusive and in-depth coverage of the Bundesliga's private equity plans and the political intrigues at VfB Stuttgart, among other things.
