Sometimes you must subtract a player to see his worth to the team. Such was the case in Bayern Munich’s 1-0 victory over PSG in the first leg of the round 16 in the UEFA Champions League. Kingsley Coman would be the man of the match for Bayern, scoring the winner in the 53rd minute after a brilliant cross from Alphonso Davies.
Bayern dominated the first half of that tie and had a good stretch in the second half. The truth, however, is also that the 56% possession, 530 to 442 completed passes, and 18 to 9 shots on goal in Bayern’s favor somewhat painted over the cracks of what happened in the last 15 minutes of that game.
