Both Niclas Füllkrug and Maximilian Beier made their initial first steps with Hannover 96. Could Nicolò Tresoldi be next?

What do Niclas Füllkrug, Maxi Beier, and Nicolò Tresoldi have in common? All three kickstarted their career at Hannover 96. All three are also a rare breed of German striker that is slowly making a comeback after having come close to extinction.

Füllkrug and Beier had their breakthrough with 2. Bundesliga side Hannover 96. Although both would take very different paths once they left Hannover, Füllkrug and Beier would become stars for Germany and play for Dortmund.

It remains to be seen whether Tresoldi, too, will one day wear Dortmund’s famous black and yellow uniform. However, one thing that seems inevitable is that Tresoldi, despite also holding an Argentine and Italian passport, will feature for Germany’s senior team sooner rather than later.
