Good teams are already figuring out how to limit Harry Kane's influence at Bayern
Aside from his goal from the penalty spot, Harry Kane was little more than a bystander in Bayern Munich's 2-2 draw with RB Leipzig.
Bayern Munich’s star players would have been forgiven for breathing a large sigh of relief when they finally boarded the team bus in the depths of the Red Bull Arena on Saturday night, following a hard-fought 2-2 draw with Marco Rose’s side. To their credit, Thomas Tuchel’s team came back from a two-goal deficit at half time to claim a point and ensure that the Bavarian giants didn’t finish match day six in fifth place.
However, while one point is certainly better than none, few could suggest that Bayern were at their best on the night and over the course of the 90 minutes Leipzig proved why they had little fear of Tuchel’s team. Indeed, Rose’s young contenders have now locked horns with their Bavarian counterparts four times in 2023 and have not only avoided defeat in every instance but also looked the better side in almost every encounter. In contrast to their dynamic and hungry hosts, Bayern looked like a side lacking ideas. And that was perhaps best characterised through star striker Harry Kane’s dismal performance.
