Germany Crisis: Bayern The Problem, Jamal Musiala The Solution?
Hungary brutally highlighted Germany's (and Bayern Munich's) shortcomings in attack on Friday. Thankfully, for both teams, in Musiala part of the solution is already playing a big part on the pitch.
When Gareth Southgate drew up his game plan for the Germany game, the under-fire England manager took inspiration from Hungary’s performance against Die Nationalmannschaft. The first 45 minutes at Wembley were almost a carbon copy of Friday’s match between Germany and Hungary, with the difference that the Magyars were able to steal a goal.
Unfortunately for England, the Three Lions did not score in the first 45 and Germany found solutions in the second half. Fortunately for England, Germany then threw away a 2-0 lead and only secured a 3-3 draw in the game's final moments. The clash at Wembley was a bitter conclusion to what has been an awful international break for Hansi Flick’s team.
