From 0 to Tzimas: How Nürnberg became one of the best talent factories in Germany

For years, Nürnberg struggled to develop and sell talent. But after selling the likes of Tzimas, Uzun and Jeltsch Der Glubb is developing a reputation as a true talent factory.

What do Stefanos Tzimas, Can Uzun, Finn Jeltsch have in common? All three were sold by 1. FC Nürnberg over the last 12 months. The three are also the club’s record outgoing transfers in quick succession. But the list doesn’t end with those three talents.

On top of Uzun, Nürnberg also sold Nathaniel Brown to Eintracht Frankfurt last summer. Frankfurt paid €11m for Uzun and €3m for Brown. That’s €12m for two players, an astronomical amount of money for a club like Nürnberg.
