Frankfurt's savvy transfer policy has transformed them into a Bundesliga top four side
The Eagles have overtaken Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig with smarter business in the transfer window.
When most football fans think of smart Bundesliga clubs their first thought often goes to the money-making machine that is Bayern Munich or the manner in which Borussia Dortmund continue to unearth gems to turn into future world class players. They may even consider Xabi Alonso’s heroics with Bayer Leverkusen last season. But in recent years another club has emerged that could challenge the hierarchy of German football with their own approach to the transfer window.
With just eight games left of the German league season, Eintracht Frankfurt are on course for back-to-back top-four finishes for the first time since 1993. And while the Eagles are by no means a club that could challenge Bayern for the league title anytime soon, they have elbowed their way past Dortmund to get to where they are today and in many ways they’ve outsmarted Jürgen Klopp’s old club and many others in the Bundesliga along the way.
