While the spotlight shines on big-name transfers, these five signings quietly became crucial figures for their Bundesliga clubs this season.
The end of the season is upon us and with it the tedious discussions about which new signing outshone all others to be the signing of the season in the Bundesliga. Naturally, we’ll spend hours podcasting and writing thousands of words on the subject in the coming weeks, but before we all get a little hot under the collar over Michael Olise or Hugo Ekitike let’s take a moment to appreciate the new signings that probably won’t get much love at the end of the month.
Over the course of the 2024/25 season Bundesliga clubs spent an impressive €792 million signing no less than 288 players in the summer and winter transfer windows. And while we can all point to the stand-out performers among that group and perhaps even list a number of expensive flops, there are a handful of players that have undoubtedly flown under the radar at clubs up and down the German top-flight over the course of the last eight months. So let’s take a look at them in no particular order and note their brilliance in the Bundesliga this season.
