Marco Reus’ contract at Borussia Dortmund is set to expire at the end of the season, and there’s a growing sense that the German forward may decide to leave the club rather than renew with the Bundesliga side. 

As my colleague

Manuel Veth
has reported, Reus has been linked with a move to Saud Arabia, MLS, RB Leipzig, and Man Utd recently. And reports elsewhere have suggested that the 33-year-forward is far from happy that the club prioritised contract negotiations with Youssoufa Moukoko over him this season. 

However, there are a few reasons why Dortmund may not be in a rush to renew Reus’ contract and may even be willing to let him leave this season. So let’s dig into them and see if we can figure out what the future has in store for the senior forward.
