Darmstadt 0-3 Dortmund: Jadon Sancho sets up Marco Reus in BVB win – but big questions remain
It was a dream comeback for Jadon Sancho as he provided a crucial assist in his first game back with Dortmund. Here are three thoughts from Dortmund's win over Darmstadt.
Borussia Dortmund won in the Bundesliga for the first time since November, seeing off bottom-of-the-league Darmstadt thanks to goals from Julian Brandt and Marco Reus either side of halftime before Youssoufa Moukoko netted a third. The first two were both set up by Englishmen: Jamie Bynoe-Gittens’ powerful dribble to set up Brandt was the only moment of quality the visitors produced in the first half, while Jadon Sancho marked his return with an assist for fellow substitute Reus after half-time. But don’t let the score line deceive you; this wasn’t a good performance from the visitors, who very much continued where they left off before Christmas: sloppy, slow, passive, and lacking in ideas. Despite three welcome points, Edin Terzic, now with Nuri Sahin and Sven Bender at his side, has serious work to do.
