It is almost here. The Bundesliga will return on Friday when Eintracht Frankfurt host Bayern Munich at the Deutsche Bank Park. With just one day to go, this week’s newsletter will introduce a new feature: a monthly article looking at all 18 clubs and 18 accompanying thoughts. This blog is a bit like a soapbox, a mix of breaking news and thoughts on every club. So let’s get started!

Eintracht Frankfurt

First round DFB Pokal hurdle taken, Mario Götze comeback in German football, Daichi Kamada and Filip Kostić in the starting XI. On paper, pretty good, especially as the latter two are linked with transfers away from Frankfurt. Kostić is contemplating an offer from West Ham United. In his current form, Musiala has to start every game. That, in turn, could create a headache for Nagelsmann as it would leave both Kingsley Coman and Leroy Sané on the bench —Thomas Müller always plays. Coaches love having those sorts of problems but will the superstars accept a more marginal role this season while keeping the peace in the dressing room?
