A new year brings big changes to the Gegenpressing Newsletter

It’s a new year and with that Gegenpressing is (once again) making some big changes for the remainder of the season. 

Starting this week, we’re delighted to welcome

Matt Ford

to the project as a full-time newsletter writer. Matt has been covering German football for Deutsche Welle and a number of publications for the best part of a decade and, as many listeners and readers may have already noticed, travels up and down Germany on a weekly basis to cover the Bundesliga and report on the biggest topics on and off the pitch. 

Every Wednesday, Matt will be offering his thoughts on the most important topics in German football and providing his expert opinions on fan culture throughout the Bundesliga and beyond. Few reporters are as embedded and well-versed in what happens on the terraces across German football and we’re delighted that Matt will be offering our subscribers a peek into the passionate world of sports politics and fan culture that makes German football so unique in the modern game. 

Unfortunately, this reshuffle means that we’ll no longer be running the Monday Bulletin newsletter. While we enjoyed providing the weekend updates, we now feel that our time and efforts are best spent on what we can offer our paid subscribers.

From this week onwards, paid subscribers will have access to:

• Three newsletters each week

• Two bonus podcasts each week

• The occasional on-the-whistle reports from the biggest games

• Access to our matchday threads, where subscribers and our writers discuss the games in real time
